What's This About?

On Wednesday July 30, 2014 coal supporters from around the country will be converging on Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to rally for the coal industry. This rally will be taking place on the eve of EPA hearings on its new “Clean Power Plan” which will be held in Pittsburgh on July 31 and August 1.

Let’s be candid: Spending half a day at a “Rally” isn’t something most of us want to do.

However, the current reality is that the positive message of Coal is not being heard. The perceived negatives of Coal are far more “newsworthy” than the positives. It takes a rally or a march (or worse) to get attention. So, we will rally. We will throw-up in our mouth a bit. But, we will rally.

We will stand up for low cost coal-fueled electricity. The power companies won’t do it. The business community that benefits from low cost electricity won’t do it. And, families don’t realize the impact of looming higher electricity costs on their lives. So, we will have to rally for all of them.

Some of us may not realize that we play an important role in providing the coal that powers our homes and businesses. Your partnership with R G Johnson helps us to provide safe, high quality, and low cost services to coal producers-which helps keep electricity prices low for everyone.
