Great Day

Thanks to everyone that joined us on July 30 for the Life is Better With Coal Rally. It was great to see so many coal supporters. The speakers were good, Chris Higbee was great, and the sun shined down wonderfully on us.

The City of Pittsburgh was very beautiful behind the stage. Many of us lifelong Pittsburgh residents know the "dirty" history of the city. The air in Pittsburgh, much like coal fueled power plants, is better than ever. Modern coal fueled power plants can be both better for the environment and provide cheap, reliable electricity. Just look at Pittsburgh now.

Pittsburgh was built on manufacturing. Companies came here because we have: Water; Transportation; and Cheap fuel in the form of coal. That was true 100 years ago. And, it is true today. Let's support manufacturing. Let's support Pittsburgh. Let's support coal's role in both.

Please tell the EPA that you believe Life is Better With Coal.

Thanks again for joining us.

What's This About?

On Wednesday July 30, 2014 coal supporters from around the country will be converging on Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to rally for the coal industry. This rally will be taking place on the eve of EPA hearings on its new “Clean Power Plan” which will be held in Pittsburgh on July 31 and August 1.

Let’s be candid: Spending half a day at a “Rally” isn’t something most of us want to do.

However, the current reality is that the positive message of Coal is not being heard. The perceived negatives of Coal are far more “newsworthy” than the positives. It takes a rally or a march (or worse) to get attention. So, we will rally. We will throw-up in our mouth a bit. But, we will rally.

We will stand up for low cost coal-fueled electricity. The power companies won’t do it. The business community that benefits from low cost electricity won’t do it. And, families don’t realize the impact of looming higher electricity costs on their lives. So, we will have to rally for all of them.

Some of us may not realize that we play an important role in providing the coal that powers our homes and businesses. Your partnership with R G Johnson helps us to provide safe, high quality, and low cost services to coal producers-which helps keep electricity prices low for everyone.
